The idea
The Qing court necklace (chaozhu) abstracted into a graduated strand of jade beads, coral and gold — the ceremony softened for everyday.
Not a reproduction
The source is a Qing official’s court necklace of jade, coral and enamel. This strand keeps the colour logic and grouping but uses modern beads and a simpler clasp; it alludes to, not replicates, court dress.

Where it begins
A court necklace of jade and coral beads, known as a chaozhu. The form is not a general-purpose necklace: bead counts, spacer beads and the arrangement of the pendant strands were fixed by Qing court regulation and signalled the wearer's rank.
